For some people, having the best and newest cars is what it is all about. Celebrities and other rich people often have huge collections of expensive cars they probably never even drive. They might even build their own giant garage or parking area in the middle of the city to accommodate their collection.

The rest of us are more concerned with getting a good deal on a car and the cheaper the better. You don’t have to get a junker though if you are looking for a cheap car. There are reasonably priced cars that will be reliable and fun to drive.

Used cars are a great way to get a reasonably priced car but still get what you want. You may even be able to afford that luxurious SUV you had your eye on if you buy used. Today you often hear “pre-owned” to describe used cars that are still in peak condition and will be a reliable vehicle.

People who hadn’t previously considered buying used cars are interested in pre-owned cars especially when it comes to luxury brands like Mercedes and Lexus. You can get a luxury car that is a decade old but still looks and runs like new. Often everyone in a family for generations will choose used cars over new ones. Even the chauffer in “Driving Miss Daisy” bought his luxury cars second hand.

You can also find new cars that are reasonably priced from companies like Hyundai. Hyundai offers reliable and attractive vehicles for less than $12,000. Another option is the Honda Civic which will only cost you around $15,000 for a car that is considered one of the finest vehicles around.

Some of these cheaper new cars will save you money with great gas mileage, will last forever and will hold their value if you go to trade them. Another advantage to the cheaper new cars is the maintenance costs are usually lower than on luxury cars.

If you have your heart set on a luxury car, you should consider Audi. Audi makes luxury cars that are significantly less expensive than Mercedes and Lexus but still are full of great features. Audis are known for their excellent engineering and reliability. The Audi TT is one model that is slightly more expensive but is sporty and attractive and great for people who like to go fast.

If you really want a cheap car, you can always try and find an old fixer upper from a few decades ago. These are great first cars for teenagers because they can spend a little but get the freedom and enjoyment of having their own car. Just remember you might get a cheap car that isn’t reliable!
